Hey HEY!

The Golden Jubilee Funfair has been a big hit with everyone and it has been great seeing all the students and young people get involved and put their business savvy to good use. Lots of games and activities everywhere made sure that people kept coming.

Helium is always a fun distraction.

A lot of people are freaked out by the idea of inhaling helium. There is no real danger to it, as long as you know how to do it safely. The general rule of thumb is that you should never breathe in continuous breaths of helium one after the other. As long as you take good long breaths of normal air between each breath of helium you'll be fine.

So anyway, today was the last day for the fair and I thought I'd pop by with a few friends to take a final walk around. The highlight of the whole thing was the snake enclosure. After years of the Discovery Channel and National Geographic, I'd always thought that snakes were something to be wary and cautious about. One wrong move and you'd lose a finger, get strangled, or even find some venom coursing through your veins.

But after today, I can honestly say that snakes are beautiful creatures. It was definitely a great experience getting to hold one and feel its smooth scaly skin and to just get a good look at it in general. My favourite one would have to be the 'ball python' a.k.a. the 'royal python'. It had gorgeous markings, and was even (dare I say it) cute because it was so small, at least in comparison to the one the girls got to hold.

The ball python is tiny compared to this monster.
